The Kangaroo Sanctuary
The Kangaroo Sanctuary is a place to celebrate the beauty of the red kangaroo – an Australian icon.
The Sanctuary is located just outside Alice Springs (right in the centre of Australia) and is home to Brolga’s kangaroo family as seen on Kangaroo Dundee (a BBC / Nat Geo documentary). Experience their guided sunset tour as you leisurely walk through The Sanctuary’s 188 acre wildlife reserve where you might meet the kangaroo characters from Kangaroo Dundee and many others.
The Sanctuary can only be visited on a pre-booked tour. They are open Tuesday to Friday and tours are about 2.5-3 hours. Bus transfers to and from the Sanctuary are provided.

Outback Quad Adventures is the sole tour operator on Undoolya Station, the oldest working cattle station in the NT, just 15min from Alice Springs. Alice Springs Reptile Centre
Alice Springs Reptile Centre is home to the largest reptile display in Central Australia. They display an extensive range of reptiles including Terry the Saltwater Crocodile, HUGE Perentie Goannas, Thorny Devils, Frill-neck Lizards and many other fascinating lizards including a varied selection of NT Geckos from the Alice Springs region, Barkly and the Top End on display in the amazing Gecko Cave.
They offer daily shows at 11am, 1pm and 3.30pm which includes a fun and informative talk on selected lizards and pythons followed by a supervised handling session.
