Tour Tips

What you should take on tour to Uluru:

Small soft bag/rucksack
Towel
One change of clothes
Jumper (in winter)
Bathers (in summer)
Toiletries
Camera
Torch
Insect Repellent
Sunscreen and Hat
Fly Net (in summer)
2 bottles (1.5 litres) water
Runners/walking shoes and pair of thongs
Sleeping bag (although you can hire this from most tour companies)
Small travel pillow
Snacks and MP3 Player - it's a very long drive.
Plenty of Goon - or the tipple of your choice!!!
Drivers Licence
Passport
Proof of age card

Just remember that most companies have a luggage limit of 15 kilograms.

Weather Tips

When travelling to central australia, please bear in mind that we do have extreme weather conditions. In the summer months, temperatures can rise above 40 degrees during the day so if you are walking around town or on tour, please ensure you drink plenty of water and always carry a bottle on you. You must also ensure you cover up and use sunscreen to prevent from falling ill.

During the winter, it can reach freezing conditons at night, so if you are planning on camping during June, July and August – bring plenty of warm clothes to keep you comfortable.

Alcohol Restrictions

We’d like your stay to be as enjoyable as possible. To that end, we have certain measures to help reduce alcohol related harm in Alice Springs.

Public Restricted Areas

Drinking alcohol in public areas such as parks, streets, the Todd River bank is banned and attracts penalties. However, you can still drink in private and licensed premises like homes, hotels and bars. Some special events may be also licensed to allow drinking. Drinking is permitted at the Picnic area at the Telegraph Station Reserve.

Takeaway Alcohol

Monday to Friday: 2.00pm – 9.00pm

Saturday and Public Holidays: 10.00am – 9.00pm

Sundays (Pubs and Clubs Only): Noon – 9.00pm

There is no takeaway alcohol on Christmas Day and Good Friday.
