Things to do

Sunset Camel Rides

Ride a Camel at sunset along the Todd River $50 for an hour, free pick up and drop off. Check out the website for further details at Camel Tracks

The Kangaroo Sanctuary

Home to the baby kangaroo rescue centre, learn how to rescue a baby kangaroo from road kill!! The Sanctuary is a 90 acre wildlife sanctuary just 15 minutes from Alice Springs CBD. Come for a sunrise tour at 6am or a sunset tour at 5.30pm when the kangaroos are most active for just $20 for adults or $10 for children.

Palm Valley

a 4WD experience, you travel along the Finke riverbed to magnificent Palm Valley, famous for its amazing Red Cabbage Palms that are found no where else in the world, you will also visit Hermannsburg Mission. This tour also includes transfers, morning tea, lunch and all entrance fees at only $120.

Royal Flying Doctor Service

Alice Springs Reptile Centre

The largest reptile display in the Northern Territory, If you only have an hour to spare you can see the lizards feed or play with a python, they have shows at 11am 1pm and 3.30pm,get a big kiss from the blue tongue lizard!! Entrance is only $12. Checkout the website at Reptile Centre

Alice Springs Desert Park

Hundreds of species of plants and animals can be seen, smelt and heard, with their stories shared through guide presentations, audio guides and movie displays. You can spend hours there and you will never look at deserts in the same way again. Entry is $40 including transfers to and from the hostel. Checkout the website at Alice Springs Desert Park

Alice Springs Telegraph Station

Is the birthplace of Alice Springs. Wonderful restored buildings trace the early history of Alice from operating the Telegraph Station, the stolen generation and war years. Entry is $7.50

Hire a Bike

We have many bicycle tracks around Alice Springs, out towards the West MacDonnell Ranges and in and around town. Contact Haven Reception desk to hire a bike for $20 per day. Check out the website for further details Longhorn

Anzac Hill

Experience a Central Australian sunrise or sunset over the MacDonnell Ranges, with a birds eye view from ANZAC Hill.

Sunday Markets at Todd Mall

Visit Todd Mall Markets and check out what our local crafts people haven on offer, have a stroll and something to eat and drink. The markets are on every 2nd Sunday from 9am till 1pm in summer(2pm in winter). For market info and dates, send a blank email to dates@toddmallmarkets.com.au.

National Pioneer Women’s Hall of Fame

The National Pioneer Women’s Hall of Fame commemorates the Australian pioneer women who first opened the doors, confronted the obstacles and made it possible for today’s women to have more power, more freedom and more options than ever before.
